The Urantia Revelation
The Structure and Meaning of the Universe Explained
Imagine that an interplanetary corps of nonhuman beings came to planet earth and
dictated 1,153,000 words, over two thousand pages, about the history of the planet,
the nature of God and reality, the purpose of evolution, the destiny and nature
of man, and the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. Apparently something like
this actually did happen in the early 1930s in Chicago, Illinois. The papers so
produced were published as The Urantia Book in 1955.
Yet the book is little known. The Urantia Book is for most people too big, too long,
too unfamiliar, and much too strange. The book is massive and sometimes exceedingly
abstract, but reveals an immense cosmopolis filled with trillions of stars and billions
of trillions of planets pullulating with irrepressible life, all moving toward a
greater but unknown goal in the reaches of outer space. Planet Earth, whose real
name is Urantia, is a life-experiment station on which higher nonhuman beings are
developing newer forms of life-expression. Many strange things have happened on
this planet. Everything is going to be okay, but you can certainly go wrong and
it is bewildering to find out what is going on.
This book presents a digest of what The Urantia Book says—the gist of it, the main outlines of the story. As such The Urantia Revelation: The Structure and Meaning of the Universe Explained will serve as an introduction and guide to The Urantia Book, or as a simplified and accessible substitute for those wishing to know what was revealed in the fifth epochal revelation on Planet Earth. There is hardly anything more interesting.
